Prevent unwanted preset changes by remote adjusting the Master knob in DMXIS with your foot-pedal (Lights will be black as long as the Master knob is zero and you are searching the correct song but has the additional advantage that the lights do not start until the Master knob goes to 1.00 by pressing the Master knob button on your foot pedal).ġ) Prepare a button on your foot pedal which sends a MIDI-note or MIDI-controller you do not use elsewhere with values 0 and 127 alternating. * IAC-Busses are managed in the "Audio MIDI Setup" utility, MIDI window. Now DMXIS should change presets accordingly. Set up DMXIS stand-alone to receive the MIDI-PCs via IAC-busĢ) In "Preferences", "Audio/MIDI Settings"-Tab, "Active MIDI inputs:" enable the IAC-bus of choice. (skip step 5) if clipboard remains unchanged) channel strip selected and copy it to the clipboard.ħ) Paste the channel strip and repeat from 4) for all your songs/patches. In the Channel Strip Inspector, select the "MIDI Output" - Tab, enable "Send Program Change" and choose the appropriate number.ĥ) Keep the Ext. Send the appropriate PCs with an External Instrument via IAC-bus to the DMXIS-standalone-version.ġ) Select your first song/patch and create an external instrumentģ) Select Channel 16 (where DMXIS changes presets) channel strip which sends the bank number on channel 15. If you really want to change DMXIS-banks you will need to add another Ext. Since you would need to send one MIDI-file per song to the DMXIS-AU-plugin to change DMXIS-presets, I would work with the DMXIS standalone version.įor easier handling of the MIDI-PCs (program changes) I would use only one bank of DMXIS-presets (granted you don't need more than 128). Please provide any help possible, and please be aware that I am very new to MIDI and I don't understand a lot of the tech talk, so please keep it simple for me. However, I can seem to configure anything else correctly to get it to send any signals to DMXIS. So, I've tried adding an External Instrument Channel Strip in MS., then loading the audio unit plug-in of DMXIS. Then, only the original yellow / red blinking ![]() When I am done with the Lead, and I deactivate the LEAD effects switch, I also want to stop the STROBE along with it. The original lighting instructions (yellow red blinking) should continue, even when I activate the strobe during mid patch. For example, I may want to start a hard rock patch with blinking yellow and red lights, but when I get to the lead guitar part, I want to hit my "lead" midi foot switch (which also chooses my distortion effect), and I want it to trigger the STROBE in DMX. When I am within a single patch in MS, I want to be able to activate a button on my MIDI foot control, and send a different lighting signal to DMXIS. that way, I gives me time to scroll through 30 patches to find the correct one, without sending and starting 30 different DMX lighting instructions to the dance floor.Ģ. Instead, if it is possible to have the DMX light instructions sent only after a 3 second delay, or something similar. In this instance, I don't want the DMXIS presets to be going spazz, quickly changing from one to the next. ![]() etc.ġb) Sometimes, we change the sequence on stage, so I will quickly scroll through various patches, back and forth, until I find the correct one we want to perform. then when we switch to a hard driving song/patch, I can auto switch the DMX lights to blinking yellow, etc. ![]() That way, when we switch to a romantic slow song, I can auto switch the DMX lights to a BLUE present. ![]() I use a MIDI foot control to switch between patches?songs, and to activate or deactivate different guitar effects while inside of a patch.ġa), When I select different patches in MS, I want the patch to select bank and presets in DMXIS. I have all 60 songs set up in MS as patches within a concert, all with different guitar effects loaded, We have 60 songs on our play list, some slow, some fast, some bluesy, some rock, etc. I've read threads which are somewhat related, but have not found my specific setup question. Can someone please advise how I need to do this?
